Curious Pilgrims is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation based on The Shetland Islands, Scotland’s most northerly group of isles. We are interested in culture and the arts, in the natural world and environment, and the positive effect that these have on the wellbeing of individuals and society.
We collaborate with individuals and organisations to create a wide-range of projects, events and activities, designed to provide opportunities for public engagement and participation.
Through our work we seek mindful engagement with the arts and the natural world, and to improve awareness and sensitivity to Shetland's land and coastal environments, encouraging people to respect and protect them.
Current Participatory Events
We currently have open calls for participation in two projects, both of which place participants at the heart of the activities. Participation is free of charge but enrolment required as limited places are available.

Memories and Stories of Island People
This project invites people based in Shetland, and of all ages and from diverse backgrounds, to share life experiences during the challenging pandemic period.
Sonic Outreach Shetland
Exploring Shetland’s Coastal Areas through Sound
Through sensory-rich, hands-on activities and the use of audio technology, we will discover, listen in and capture the hidden world of sounds within Shetland’s coastal areas, making sounds which are unheard by the human ear, heard.
